Let’s be realistic, teaching yourself how to play any instrument can be a little difficult. You could do all the analyzing you wish to, simply without practice you will not get any better. And by practice, I am not saying to pick up the guitar and noodle for five minutes a day. What I am saying is that you need to have the commitment and determination to win and genuine want to learn how to play guitar.

If you want to learn how to play guitar, you must put in the hours.

Now how are you going to go about doing it? If you go to a local bookshop you’ll see a lot of various books on learning how to play guitar, and as they all could be useful, filled with flashy pictures, they simply aren’t the method to use.

When I first began learning, I was lucky enough to know a buddy that taught me the very basics. And by fundamentals I mean she showed me how to hold the guitar and how to use a tuner and metronome. Later on  I was able to play the beginning four chords of “Wanted Dead Or Alive” by Bon Jovi (my favorite musician of all time), but it did not come easily.

I asked her how she learned to play the guitar because she was so skilled, and her reply directed me to the course I went for to get where I am at present.

She did not learn from taking one-on-one lessons from a local guitar store or from reading a book on how to play guitar. She learned how to play guitar on internet , from a program I myself found and used ( Learnguitar.net ).

I was sort of took aback to discover this because it drifts from the norm of learning guitar, but it did make good sense. Whenever you have a video tutorial that demonstrates you precisely how to play guitar online, it is more effective than having a teacher because you are able to return and view whichever lesson over and over again without having to care about time restraints.

Luckily, we are in the Digital Age, but the trouble is in getting a reputable one that does work for really learning how to play guitar. I would  encourage anybody attempting to learn guitar to do a little research and find a reputable service, because in my experience they are great.
